Open Question: Does your accent gradually change where ever you live?

6 October 2008, 4:18 pm

I've lived in north-western south pretty much my whole life and I've always lived in the south. I never had a drawl or anything. I talked pretty much normal and hardly ever said "aint" and "yall". But since I've moved to mississippi, I've started saying "hey yall" lol and "that aint right" and stuff. Is it okay to start slowly, gradually get that southern accent that everyone has here, i mean I think it's cute. But my friends back home w/ think I'm some hickb---- hahah now that I talk like em. I see no harm in it? What do you say?... read more
